What's New

Anticipation of Springtime

The sound of robins cheerfully announcing a new day.  The fresh green buds that appear on seemingly dead, gray trees.  The daffodils, crocuses and tulips lifting their pretty, colorful heads out of the cold, dark soil.  Rabbits bounding about merrily in bright, green grass.  The anticipation of Spring, after a long, cold winter does not disappoint, as Creation seems to burst forth in color and new life.

What makes Springtime seem so exciting?  It’s the great contrast that is found in Wintertime when all seems to die or go to sleep.  The sun seems to hide behind gray clouds as fallen temperatures keep us indoors.  We begin to long for the sun, the growth of healthy flowers and plants that are nourished by Spring rains.  We begin to anticipate the coming of a new season and the blessing of new life.

Solomon expressed it like this, “Look, the winter is past, and the rains are over and gone. The flowers are springing up, the season of singing birds has come, and the cooing of turtledoves fills the air.  Song of Solomon 2:11-12 NLT

Does God delight in the season of Springtime?  Absolutely.  Check this out:

“You visit the earth and water it, you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. You water its ridges abundantly, you settle its furrows; you make it soft with showers, you bless its growth. You crown the year with your goodness, and your paths drip with abundance. They drop on the pastures of the wilderness, and the little hills rejoice on every side. The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered with grain; they shout for joy, they also sing” (Psalm 65:9-13 NKJV).

Just as God ordained a season of long, cold, sometimes dreary days, He also always has a plan for Springtime; happy, colorful, new-life Springtime.

Debasish Mridha said, “After winter, spring never forgets to come.”

Sometimes in life, we face times where all seems cloudy, dreary and even hopeless.

But if you will keep looking to the One who created the Earth, the seasons and you, remember that He has a great plan for your life and that you can trust Him, then you can know – your Springtime is coming!

For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;  The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Song of Solomon 2:11-13
