Spa Day

Spa Day

Taking a trip to the spa is sooo relaxing.  It can also be quite costly, so why not create a spa atmosphere where your girls can be pampered and that they will enjoy?

1. Location

The location should be an uncluttered and relaxing one.  Perhaps there is someone in the church that would be willing to open their home for a few hours.

Last result would be the church itself, as you want it to be an out of the ordinary place and someplace they may not normally go to.

2. Atmosphere

Set the stage for a relaxing time.  Perhaps play soft instrumental music in the background. Use aromatic scents – plug ins or diffusers and don’t forget lots of candles.

3. What to do

A. Give each girl her own bucket of water.  Have each girl remove the dead skin on her heels and balls of her feet while in water.  Foot scrubs are applied as well as skin scrubs to her hands and face.  She could apply them herself or friends could pair up.

Feet could be rinsed in the buckets and hands and faces in the sink.

B. Hot oil treatment

Have each girl apply hot oil or coconut oil to her hair for deep treatment.  Hair would then be covered with a towel or a “towel wrap”, for the allotted time.

Hair is washed thoroughly afterwards.  You will find many wonderful deep hair treatments in the store LUSH.

C. Nail treatment

Have someone file the girls’ nails and apply Vitamin E oil to their nails and cuticles. Cuticles could be pushed back if desired.

D. Teach different ways to give back, neck, hand and foot massages.  Girls can practice on each other.

4. Snacks

Don’t forget to serve an array of fun snacks.  Perhaps a cheese tray with fruit and special fruit infused water or finger foods that make them feel as if they are attending a fancy party and being pampered.

Devo Time: Teach ways of taking care of our body.  Talk of basic hygiene and grooming.

Discuss what the Bible says about relaxing and casting our worries, cares and stresses on the Father.  Include the following Scriptures and more of your own.

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” I Pet. 5:7 KJV

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Ph. 4:6 ESV

“Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.”

Pro. 12:25 ESV

Note: If you have any ideas to add to this, please feel free to share and we can add them on!
