Mother/Daughter Scavenger Hunt

Supplies Needed:

* Scavenger hunt list

* Phones to take pictures

* Transportation to garage sales if not in walking distance

Goal: To be the first to find items on list and take pictures with them, and enjoy a time of Garage Saling together.

For this TCG Meeting mom, stepmoms, aunts, grandmothers or mentors are invited to participate in a team with TCG club member.

Pass out scavenger hunt list

Rules:

            * Teams are not required to purchase items, but are required to take a picture with as many items on the list as possible.                                      * Teams traveling together may not use the same items

            * Different items have different points values

Choose a day when a community or city is having multiple garage sales.

Choose a starting location where everyone will meet, receive lists and hear rules of the hunt.

Set a time to meet at a prearranged location for a cookout, following the Scavenger Hunt.

Prizes are awarded to the teams that have pictures with the most items, scoring the highest points.

Prizes can be gift cards to coffee shops or thrift stores.

Note from Michelle:

We have done a thrift sale scavenger hunt for three years now, and it has become a well-loved event.

Since it is a race, there is a lot of friendly competition.

Most people are very supportive and when they find out we are on a scavenger hunt, they often go into their houses to find things to help us!   We get a lot of positive feedback about a girl’s club encouraging mother/daughter teams.   We get a little thrifting done, too, if our daughters allow it!!!!

I like to stress the importance of teamwork and that it takes two for a relationship to be good and close.

Here are some pictures from recent scavenger hunts.
